THE LEGISLATIVE SESSION IS OVER!!! (Sorry just had to get that out of my system)

On to the news of the day (so far):

Watching and Waiting for Gov. Perry

Another day, another dozen or so stories on and whether or not he'll run for the Republican nomination for President. A couple of big items from yesterday: first, a new has Perry 2nd, just behind former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney. Second, the governor put out a fundraising e-mail yesterday that, while asking for money for his STATE account, . I'm pretty sure the President isn't running for a state office.

Austin City Council Endorses F1 Deal

So much for the concerns/hopes that new city council member Kathie Tovo would change the outcome of a council vote on whether or not to endorse an incentive deal that is helping to to Austin. With the city's blessing, F1 organizers in Austin are now able to get $25 million a year for 10 years.

Texas Legislature Special Session Ends (as I mentioned above)

With lawmakers heading out of Austin, our friends over at the Texas Tribune (KUT's political reporting partner) have a of what happened to the big bills of the session.
