Severe weather is forecast for the Austin area Monday.

The Austin area is under an increased risk of severe weather Monday as a line of storms moves east across Central Texas.

The main threats are damaging winds, lightning and hail up to the size of apples, according to the National Weather Service.

A severe thunderstorm watch that was in effect for much of Monday has been canceled, but there is still a chance of an isolated storm into the early evening hours.

A severe thunderstorm watch means storms are capable of forming, and you should be prepared to take action if it progresses into a warning. A severe thunderstorm warning means there is "imminent danger to life and property," and you should take shelter immediately, .
