Texas Mayor: Pray for Rain

With the by the day, a Texas mayor is turning to a higher power.

He’s asking people to pray for rain.

Odessa Mayor David Turner is calling on community and church leaders to make this Sunday, April 14th, a for rainfall.

The Odessa City Council is expected to issue a proclamation to that effect on Tuesday.

Two years ago, in April of 2011, Governor Rick Perry in the State of Texas.

In the weeks and months that followed, the drought got worse, becoming the driest year Texas has had since modern recordkeeping began in 1895, .

Here in the Austin area, the a 50 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms starting Tuesday evening, falling to 30 percent on Wednesday.
