Austin ISD Seeks Input For $900M Bond Proposal

The Austin Independent School District is seeking residents' input on a bond proposal.

The Austin Independent School District is hosting a series of meetings to ask the public for input on what might be on a bond proposal this November. The plan includes modernizing some schools and tackling other projects prioritized by the school board.

This is the first part of the school district’s , which was passed in April. The first phase carries a price tag of around $900 million. If voters pass the initial bond proposal, projects could begin immediately. That may be easier said than done. In 2013, two of four AISD bond proposals failed to get voter approval. And earlier this month, voters denied a bond proposal for Round Rock schools.

Tuesday, 6-8 p.m., at

The district will also have information available Saturday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at .
