A year after voters , the Austin City Council is once again asking voters to approve tens of millions of dollars for affordable housing.
The City of Austin will host the today about this November’s $65 million affordable housing bond.
The city tried to get $78.3 million in bond money for affordable housing last year, but the measure failed. ( showing how the housing bond lost.) Austin was forced to use $10 million from its budget for affordable housing projects, including repairs on low-cost homes.
Tonight’s meeting will be held at the in East Austin. Voters will consider the proposition on the Nov. 5 ballot. .
