Soon Houstonites will be able to eat a green chile pork or fried chicken taco without having to drive down I-10. That鈥檚 because Torchy鈥檚 Tacos, which started as a food truck and expanded to nine locations in Austin, is now heading to H-Town.
鈥淗ouston, we have a store opening!鈥� Torchy鈥檚 wrote . 鈥淲e've made a deal with the devil and the doors are set to open in December.鈥�
Torchy鈥檚 was founded by chef Mike Rypka in 2006. He has already expanded to Dallas and has thought about opening locations outside Texas.
鈥�"If we go out of state, we'd go to the East Coast," Rypka . "I have a lot of contacts there. Our growth has been due to customer demand. Trailers are a good way to start, but not necessarily a good way to continue to grow.
