As a Neighborhood's History Fades, Marshall's Barbershop Remains a Constant

In the neighborhood around 12^th and Chicon streets in East Austin 鈥� a lot has changed 鈥� new homes, new businesses, new residents 鈥� but there are some things that have stayed the same.

As part of our On My Block series, KUT鈥檚 Lauren Hubbard brings us to Marshall鈥檚 Barbershop, a longtime fixture in the neighborhood that鈥檚 now one of the few black-owned businesses in the neighborhood.
