AGÕæÈ˰ټÒÀÖ County DA Lehmberg Pleads Guilty, Gets 45 Jail Days

AGÕæÈ˰ټÒÀÖ County District Attorney Rosemary Lehmberg pleaded guilty this morning to a Class A misdemeanor for drunk driving.

She was after she was reportedly driving erratically. AGÕæÈ˰ټÒÀÖ County Sheriff’s officers say they found an open bottle of vodka in her car.

Lehmberg’s attorney David Sheppard said she received, what he called, the “harshest sentence� for the offense. “She accepted the sentence that was determined by the county attorney to be appropriate,� Sheppard said, “a 45 days in jail and a 4 thousand dollar fine and walked into the jail and is in that jail to serve that sentence.�

Lehmberg’s driver’s license has also been suspended for 6 months.

Lehmberg has said she as the county’s highest legal authority. Her staff is expected to carry on with her duties while she is behind bars as they do when she is on vacation.
